Weekend Series Preview 5/30-6/1
San Francisco Giants -165 vs Miami Marlins +135
Pick: SF -165
Key Stat - 4/5/6 Hitter Stats
Friday - Harrison/Quantrill - Giants LOSE
Quantrill has pulled some of the best offenses in baseball to start the season, but the Giants are not quite on that level. Quantrill has seen most of the Giants once or twice and has decent numbers against them. If he can keep the middle of the order in check, I like Qunatrill to fall just short of a quality start but do enough to secure a win for the Marlins.
Saturday - Ray/Cabrera - Giants WIN
Robbie Ray is 7-0 with a 2.56 ERA this year. With quality starts in each of his last 7 games, Ray is flourishing in San Francisco. I like him for 7 innings in this one, approaching 10 strikeouts, and all behind solid run support as the hitters take Cabrera to task.
Sunday - Birdsong/Weathers - Giants WIN
Hayden Birdsong now has two starts under his belt this season and they have been solid. Birdsong has been asked to replace Jordan Hicks, and pulling the Marlins is another great building block for his confidence. Ryan Weathers is no slouch on the other side of the diamond though and the Giants hitters will have to give Birdsong some run support to keep him in this game long enough to have a real impact. The key in this one will be how BOTH pitchers handle the middle of the order, specifically the second time through. I like the Giants to win a low scoring game.
Other series worth a look:
Rangers (-130) over Cardinals (+100)
Tigers (-125) over Royals (-105)
