Hump Day Heroes 6/4/25

Everyone needs a midweek energy infusion, and baseball teams are no different. I’ve got a few guys primed for a big Hump Day who can help you out in fantasy, DFS, or just for some good old fashioned entertainment. First, let's check in on last week’s guys:

Judge - 0 for 2 - MISS

Dubon - Did not start, 1 for 2 - HIT

Wheeler - PPD

Hitter 1: Aaron Judge (New York Yankees)

Judge continues to be a dominant force in MLB. An SI.com article from today highlights him as a top pick for a home run prop. While his matchup against the Cleveland Guardians' starter Clarke Schmidt (listed by Fangraphs with a 3.95 ERA) might not be a pushover, Judge's raw power and current form make him a threat in any game, especially at Yankee Stadium. He's simply seeing the ball incredibly well and hitting it with authority.

Judge 1+ Home Run +190

Hitter 2: Alex Verdugo (Atlanta Braves)

Riding the lefty/righty matchup in Atlanta today, Verdugo is a good candidate to get a hit today against the Arizona Diamondbacks. Although only hitting .252 for the season, Verdugo has hit safely in 5 of his last 7 games and should add to that toal today. Verdugo is a consistent contact hitter, and facing Merrill Kelly of the D-backs and his 3.78 ERA, he should have opportunities to put the ball in play and find a hole.

Verdugo 1+ Hit -180

Pitcher: MacKenzie Gore (Washington Nationals)

Gore may only be 2-5, but he is quietly having a fantastic season for the Nationals. Already at 101 strikeouts and sporting a 3.16 ERA, the Chicago Cubs come to town. Gore leads MLB with a 36% K rate and that kind of strikeout upside is exactly what you look for on Hump Day. The Cubs can be a formidable lineup, but Gore's swing-and-miss stuff gives him a great chance to rack up the Ks.

Gore Over 6.5 Strikeouts -125
