Hump Day Heroes 6/18/25

Everyone needs a midweek energy infusion, and baseball teams are no different. I’ve got a few guys primed for a big Hump Day who can help you out in fantasy, DFS, or just for some good old fashioned entertainment. First, let's check in on last week’s guys:

Carpenter - 0 for 4 - MISS

Neto - 1 for 4, 1 R - MISS

Bubic - 4.1 IP, 3 ER, 3 Ks - MISS

This Week:

Hitter 1: Max Muncy (Los Angeles Dodgers)

This is a classic exploitable matchup. Muncy, a left-handed power bat, is at home facing Padres' righty Stephen Kolek. Kolek has been extremely vulnerable to left-handed hitters this season, allowing a high .384 wOBA against them. Muncy, meanwhile, has excelled against right-handed pitching, posting a 156 wRC+ (meaning he's 56% better than the league-average hitter against them). This is the perfect recipe for Muncy to continue his hot streak.

Muncy 1+ Home Run +425

Hitter 2: Rafael Devers (San Francisco Giants)

Normally a lefty-on-lefty matchup is a disadvantage, but not today. Devers faces Guardians' southpaw Logan Allen, who has significant reverse splits, meaning he actually struggles more against left-handed hitters (.403 wOBA allowed) than righties. Devers is one of the rare lefties who hits well against other left-handers (147 wRC+). The value here is excellent because the matchup looks unfavorable on the surface.

Devers 1+ Home Run +380

Pitcher: Sonny Gray (St. Louis Cardinals)

This is a prime spot for an ace to dominate. Gray (7-2, 3.84 ERA) is on the mound for the Cardinals against the struggling Chicago White Sox. The White Sox lineup ranks 27th in runs scored over the past two weeks and they are all around just a bad baseball team. Expect Gray to control this game and rack up the strikeouts against a team that is currently mired in a five-game losing streak.

Gray Over 6.5 Strikeouts +125
